Our Team
General Manager: Mitch Gilman
(He/him)
Email: mitch@metrorock.com
Before stepping into the GM role, Mitch was a dedicated MetroRock member for over two years. He has a deep appreciation for what makes MetroRock special— the people. He’s passionate about building an inclusive, welcoming environment where climbers of all backgrounds can thrive, push themselves, and feel like they belong.
As a former professional halfpipe and slopestyle skier, Mitch brings the same drive and love for adventure to climbing.
Mitch’s favorite style of climbing is bouldering, but you can occasionally find him attached to a rope if his fingers are in poor shape.
If you see Mitch at the gym, come say hi and let them know what ways they can make your MetroRock climbing experience even better!
Head Setter: Chris St. Pierre (he/him)
Email: chrisp@metrorock.com
Chris started climbing in 2016 while working at a small climbing gym in his hometown and became obsessed immediately. Having started routesetting less than a year into his climbing career, Chris' passions for his own climbing and for creating climbs for others have been linked since the very beginning.
Chris' favorite places to climb are Rumney, the anew River Gorge, and the Gunks (only for bouldering because trad is scary.)
If you see Chris in the gym be sure to give him all your thoughts and feedback! Whether it's good or bad, he wants to hear it all.
Director of Outdoor Programming: Victoria Fitzgerald (she/her)
Email: programs@metrorock.com
Wanting to push her love of hiking mountains and wanting to explore higher, Victoria started rock climbing around 2016 and never looked back. In 2023, Vic left a career in Law and Conflict Resolution and to pursue her love of climbing and the outdoors full time.
Vic is a coach and instructor at MetroRock Bushwick, and is an American Mountain Guide Association Single Pitch Instructor & NY State Licensed Guide. In the future she hopes to get her AMGA Multi-Pitch Certification and assist with mountain search & rescue groups.
Her favorite types of climbs involve cracks of all shapes and sizes. If there is a crack, Vic will jam an appendage into it and love it. She also loves long relaxing multi-pitch climbs with a friend or two.
Youth Programs Coordinator: Sintra Nichols (she/they)
Email: bkyouth@metrorock.com
Sintra began her rock climbing journey in 2021, but was climbing all over everything she could, indoors and outdoors, since she could walk. Once she discovered that climbing could be a skill, a way to build community, AND a way to spend time in nature, she was all in.
Having been a part of MetroRock youth programs since early 2024, her philosophy in this role is greatly informed by her own childhood; She aims to foster youth programming that little Sintra herself would have loved. She loves to help kids build self-confidence by learning to trust their bodies and their own capacity to learn, all while having fun with her favorite sport in the world.
She also loves a good chat, so never hesitate to say hello!
